Alessandra Borch

She is a professional in intergovernmental cooperation in the area of culture. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and a Master’s Degree in Tourism Valorization of Cultural Heritage from Paris 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne University. She has been working for the UNESCO Culture Sector since 2005, both at Headquarters and at country level, in a variety of roles and responsibilities related to the backstopping of intergovernmental processes, the management of culture programmes and the coordination of emergency response operations. She has been working in the Secretariats of the UNESCO Conventions related to the World Cultural and Natural Heritage and the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, in the UNESCO Offices in Kabul and Dar-es-Salaam, in the Executive Office of the Assistant Director-General for Culture and in the Emergency Preparedness and Response Unit. Since August 2021, she is the Coordinator of the Transcultura Programme within the UNESCO Regional Office for Culture in Havana.
