Maxine Fisher Casserly
Mrs. Fisher-Casserly is the Urban Development Corporation’s first female Chief Architect. A portfolio which entails providing oversight to architects who have prioritized the nation’s interests, her Team is charged with providing the best possible development solutions for Jamaica.
Having joined the organisation in 1994, she has worked on several planning and design projects across the island, including the Downtown Kingston Redevelopment Project, restoration of the Caymanas Golf Club and the Jamaica Houses of Parliament Project among others. Designing public spaces, historic sites and places of worship are also some of her joys.
Maxine’s love for architecture goes back to her days as a student of the Immaculate Conception High School. This propelled her to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture Technology at the New York Institute of Technology and later a Master of Architecture at the University of Technology. She also holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of New Orleans.
A registered Architect and member of the Jamaica Institute of Architects (JIA), she deems it a privilege to be able to work on a myriad of project types, particularly those which are of public interest noting a special joy attained from knowing that they would ultimately benefit and safeguard the interests of the people of Jamaica.
Mrs. Fisher Casserly is guided by the scripture, Colossians 3:23 which reads, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
